Took off for a short run on JRP at 5:30 pm with the hubby.  It was already pretty dark but it was a beautiful run and the temperature was great.  We saw three deer and had several flocks of geese fly over.

I signed of for Ogden Marathon- hopefully this will motivate me to be more consistant.

I bet you really enjoyed seeing the deer and geese. My daughters and I went to sign up for the Ogden half and it was already full. My daughter that lives in Ogden was the most disappointed and she doesn't even run it. She is pregnant but loves to hang out with us when we run the Ogden half.

I'm sorry to hear you couldn't get in. Do they have a waiting list this year? Last year I got in from the waiting list. I was amazed it was full and how full the marathon was when I signed up. I'm not sure it is the one I want to run but felt I'd better get signed up anyway.

If you can't get in you'll have to go visit your daughter and come cheer us all on.

As I have gone out and run lately I have tried to just enjoy the run and not push to hard.  My goal has to been to keep it comfortable.  This was my plan again today.  I was pleased when I got home and checked my Garmin and found my AP was at 8:30.  I started out slow and ended at a pretty good pace. My splits were: 8:53, 8:58, 8:54, 8:11, and 7:50.  The last two miles felt great and I felt I could have run a lot farther.

Ran on the TM at the gym.  Started out slow and speed up- finished my last 1 1/2 miles at a 7:30 pace.  AP- 8:10.  I think the treadmill is good for mental training- it is so tedious  I always increase my pace just to finish faster-  It feels like the last mile or so of a marathon- I can't wait for it to be over.  Maybe I need to get my ipod charged or get a book on tape to help pass the time.

Nicely done Michelle. I was just taking a gander on ya! What gym do you go to? I do that also on the treadmill. Start at 6 miles an hour and get to 12 miles an hour haha. I can only make one mile at that I look forward to the day I cans sustain all 26.2. Be good!

It was nice to see you this morning and chat for a minute!! I am so glad you are all healed up and ready to run and race again!

You are fast on the TM! I am impressed, I hate that dang thing.

I am mad that I didn't go now Kelli and Michelle. I was up and had to take my daughter to bingham at 5. It was so cold so I went to marvs and treadmill ran.

Meet the BBK group this morning.  I got there a little late for the early miles but so did Dean so I ran the first 2.45 miles with him.  I don't know if I am really out of it or what but the pace seemed fast today.  My Garmin said my average pace was 8:40 but I know this does not represent how fast we actually ran.  The pace was slow on my garmin because we slowed down several times to allow everyone to regroup.  I wonder how fast we were actually running- if I had time I suppose I could figure it out but... I don't.

It was really nice talking and listening to the others today as I ran.  I wish it wouldn't have seemed so tough.

Nice job getting up with the BBK's! You must be in elementary now :)

Hopefully you can keep coming for a couple months! I'm hoping to get back by mid/end February. However, after reading about that pace...maybe not! I'll need a nice 9mm to cruise at.

Met the BBK group for a long run.  We ran most of the Riverton 1/2 course.  Started out at a nice pace.  Most of the run felt great, although I struggled on the hill by Lovers lane.  I was proud of myself for pushing my way through and finishing strong with the last .8 miles being at a 7:45 pace.  I was also proud of myself for stopping at 10.8 miles.  Most of the group added 4 more miles, I need to take it easy on my knees and build slowly.  This is tough for me to do- I hate being slower or doing less- but I have got to learn to listen to my body and follow MY plan.  My splits this morning were: 9:38, 8:50, 8:36, 9:16, 8:51, 8:36, 8:40, 9:08, 8:04, 8:25, 7:51 (.8).  For an AP of 8:44.

Great run and great company.  I am glad I got out of bed at 6:10

Rode the stationary bike today at the gym on level 8 for 40 minutes.  I completed 14.5 miles.  It was an easy ride.  My goal was to get a little exercise in while I read.  I was able to finish two chapters of School Law.

I then took the kids swimming and spent a little time in the lap pool.  I was able to swim 10 lengths (5 laps).  Swimming is tough, I don't know how people do it.  I need to learn how to pace myself, and how to breathe properly.

Based on my exertion level I am only going to count 3 miles for my efforts.

Hi Shelly. It was great to see you back with the BBK's on Saturday. I had to do a double take at your picture. That's my daughter in front of you. Too funny.

When I started swimming to train for our Triathlons I hated the swimming. I could only go one lap and then I had to lay on the side for 1 minute and catch my breath.

Got up to run with the BBK group but again I missed them.  They are so prompt and I can't seem to get my rear out of bed to be there at 5:15 (for the early miles).  I was only 5 minutes late.  I didn't want to run alone and I didn't want to waste time waiting for them to return for the regular miles at 5:45 so I headed to the gym for the dreaded treadmill.

I didn't feel overly ambitious this morning so I started out slow (6.0) and decided to let the TM add some random inclines.  This wasn't too bad but, as always, I got bored.  I wanted to put in at least 4 miles so I slowly started to ramp up the speed.  I finished my last .5 miles at a 9.0 and was relieved to have the run over.  I sure wish I could get excited about the TM.  It makes so much more sense to run on it with our lousy air quality.

No run tomorrow, as I will be at school for a glorious 12 hours.  Hopefully, I can get my rear out of bed for Thursday's run.

Ran over to the gym to meet the kids and swim.  I felt like I had pushed fairly hard at times but I still never saw a mile under 8:00- I think I'm slowing down.  AP was 8:31 for 4.5 miles and then I walked for a mile at the gym.

I'm looking forward to Painter's next weekend but I can't decide what to make my goal.  My husband is going to run/walk it so I could pace him but I think that would drive me nuts.  Last year I ran it in 1:38, a PR for me- I don't think I'm ready for that sooo... what to do?

I had planned to run 10 outside today but the air quality was so poor again the hubby and I decided to go to the gym.  I knew I couldn't stomach 10 miles on the dreadmill so I decided I would run 5 and then try my luck at swimming again.  I struggled on the treadmill and had to stop at 2.5 miles to try and stretch my quad and see if I couldn't get my knee cap to start tracking better.  My left knee has gotten pretty sore on the upper, outside edge of the knee cap.  I'm pretty sure its just a tracking issue and nothing to worry about but it is really challenging on the treadmill not to focus on it. I finished the last 2.5 miles strong with 1 mile at an 8:00 min/mile pace and 1 at a 7:30 pace.

I swam 20 laps (40 lengths) today which I guess is 5/8 of a mile.  I swam 1/2 a mile (16 laps) with out stopping and it took me 26 minutes (I think).  That seems awfully slow but I really have no idea.  Then I swam 4 more laps stopping to talk to the hubby and trying to help him with his form- its even worse than mine.  I think we both need a couple of swim lessons. I really enjoyed swimming but don't feel I got as good a workout as with running.  I guess I will improve with time and will learn how to push myself- this was only the 2nd time I have actually tried to swim as exercise.

I'd love to try a triathlon someday, so I guess I'd better to learn how to swim efficiently.

I gave myself 3 miles for the time in the pool.

Today I walked 1.5 miles home from the auto shop, got dressed in my running gear and ran back to pick up the car.  It was short and easy but it was nice to get out in some decent weather.

I then went to the gym and swam 20 laps (5/8 of a mile).  This time I was able to complete 16 laps (1/2 mile) in 21 minutes, 5 minutes faster than yesterday.  I wish I could shave time off my runs that fast.  This is my 3rd time in the pool so its great to see improvement.  So, what is a decent time for a half mile swim?  What should I be aiming for if I want to be competitive in a mini triatholon?   I will only count 2 miles for my time in the pool today.

Mentally I blew it.  I went into this race not knowing what I wanted and so I let my self opt out of finishing strong.  GRRR.  I started out fairly well with my first seven miles being 7:35, 7:37, 7:34, 7:39, 7:58, 7:41, 7:59.  I then started to get a little tired and realized I wouldn't reach my pace from last year- 7:32.  So I started rationalizing how I hadn't trained, and that I should enjoy the run and my knee hurt... and talked my self into finishing rather slow.  My final splits were  8:13, 8:30, 8:25, 8:50, 8:31, 8:25.  I know these times aren't bad but I hate that I let myself wimp out.  I have never ran a race that I willingly let people pass me.  I didn't even try- I know that today because my legs aren't all that sore.  AP: 8:04

I now know I need to be realistic with my self and run accordingly.  I wanted to do as well as last year but knew my training wasn't up to snuff.  I should have set a realistic goal and ran consistently.  I guess this was the lesson I needed to learn.

From RAD on Mon, Jan 25, 2010 at 14:36:32 from 67.172.229.125

Getting a mental workout like that is sometimes worth 5 good physical races. The mental toughness will come into play in your next race and you'll hit it with a PR!! You've worked through a lot this fall - know that you're a strong runner and now even more mentally ready to hit it!!

From Kelli on Mon, Jan 25, 2010 at 19:46:42 from 71.219.89.82

Hmmm....I saw your time the day of the race and I was very happy for you!! With your injury and just getting back into the swing of things, I thought that was a darn good time. I am sorry that you feel like you quit a little, but I think it just shows that the training is more than just physical----it is mental as well. You will be back to where you want to be very soon, those races that disappoint us have a way of inspiring us at the same time, right?

From Nancy on Tue, Jan 26, 2010 at 23:01:18 from 76.27.19.206

I think you did a great time especially considering your knee injury and lack of training.

From Shelly on Wed, Jan 27, 2010 at 02:25:30 from 67.166.68.81

Kelli & Nancy,

You are right my time was respectable. With my lack of training and knee, my time should not have been as good as last year, although I finished the halloween half in 1:38 (but it is all downhill). This race taught me I need a strategy. Finishing strong is important to me, so I need to know myself better and work on running a negative split.

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 27, 2010 at 16:11:51 from 71.219.89.82

I think as long as you learned something useful out of the race, it was a good race! I had some bummer races last year after my injury and it was hard to be happy about them, but once I tried to put them in perspective and get something out of the experience it helped!!!!

You are an awesome runner!

7.25 tough miles.  This run was challenging but felt good.  The wind was stiff and my legs were a little tired but I managed an AP of 8:14.  My splits were- 8:16,  8:18,  8:25 (Tithing Hill), 7:58, 8:35 (Parkway Pallisades Hills), 7:48,  and 8:05.  I then cooled down with a .25 mile walk.

I'm signed up for Ogden Full but haven't had much time to train.  I'm debating whether or not I should try and run it.  Based on tonight's run I think I could do it but I'm not sure I can run at the pace I want to.  Is it too late to pull off a good time?  Should I try and run it for fun?  I wish I wasn't so competitive with myself- I always feel I have to run a PR or I shouldn't be running.  How do you break this mind set?

From RAD on Sat, Mar 20, 2010 at 13:44:33 from 67.172.229.125

Easy to say for me right now, but I'd just run it for fun. You can always train for that PR (your miles and paces look GREAT!) and then mentally know that if by the 1/2 start you're done just sit back, relax and enjoy/suffer through the last 1/2.

Best way to break the mind set - be physically forced to NOT run for 3+ months and then have to come back super slow, with an extra 20 pounds sitting on your butt/gut! :)

From Nancy on Sat, Mar 20, 2010 at 23:27:05 from 76.27.19.206

Ran a loop from my house around most of the Riverton half route and back home.  I had only planned on going out for 10 miles but felt good so I stretched it out to 13.  I started slow and actually ended strong.  My splits were as follows: 9:12, 9:06, 9:09, 9:14, 9:10, 9:08, 8:55, 8:46 (Lovers lane hill), 8:47, 8:44, 8:30, 8:17, 8:58 (from the river-bottom straight up 114th- this was by far the biggest hill of the route).  I think this may be the first time I have actually run a negative spilt.  The wind was pretty stiff in my face for the first half of the run.  AP: 8:55.

I haven't signed up the Riverton half and am not sure if I'm going to.  I will be curious what the actual route will be since the river has flooded both the 126th and bangeter areas and the trail is torn up.

Ran another 3.5 with the hubby this evening.  Thank goodness it was a very slow pace 10+.  My daughter rode her bike, the hubby pushed the jogging stroller and I ran the dog.  Beautiful evening- nice end to a great day.

I'm volunteering for the 1/2 and they have changed the course a little. It now goes back up to 13th from Roy O Hardy through the tithing hills subdivision then takes 13th down to the road where the pool is and goes back to the trail there. I guess the sewer district has promised to have it at least 6 feet wide runnable by Saturday for the race. Then it ends where it starts - I think the new map should be up soon! There are still over 100 spots available, you should sign up - you would do GREAT! Especially after seeing those kind of splits on the hills I know you ran!! You are kickin' some booty - I don't think you'll have much to worry about at Ogden.

Mental therapy- that is what running is all about.  Today I was a little discouraged and hadn't really planned to go for a run.  I was just going to run over to the gym (1 mile) and get my hubby.  Well, when I got to the gym he wanted to play 'just one more game' of basketball so I went up to the treadmill and ran.  I started out slow but since I was feeling good I decided to gradually increased my speed.  By the end of the run I actually ran about a 1/4 mile in the 6's.  My splits were: 9:14 (huge head wind), 9:00 (TM), 8:00, 7:25, and 8:00. I then walked for a 1/2 mile to cool down.

This run felt great and I needed it.  I have got to always remember to run when I am having a tough time.

This was a great run, I only had a limited time and I wanted to get in a good work-out but I didn't want to trash my legs for Saturday.  The slow sections were actually unbearably slow but I was trying to be conservative.  I was amazed at how good the 7:03 pace felt.  I felt I could have maintained it for several more mile.

I hadn't quite decided whether I was going to run this race or not.  Last night I was a chaperone at Jr. Prom and didn't get to bed until after midnight.    Our group went to The Roof for dinner- it was incredible and the deserts... mmm.  I totally over ate.  At 8:45 I decided to go for it-  I threw on my running clothes, jumped in my truck and sped over to the start.  Just as I was getting out of my truck the race began.  I hustled over to the start and headed off- the last runner out of the gate.

I felt pretty good most of the race, although about mile 9 my lack of breakfast and my huge dinner caught up with me.  I was totally lacking fuel and was wishing I had a gel or something.  My splits were as follows: 7:57, 7:50, 7:47, 8:01, 8:09, 7:56, 8:01, 8:05, 8:46 ( I think this is were I walked through a water station and guzzled a whole cup of gatorade and 1 of water), 8:17, 8:52 (?), 8:27, and 7:50.  AP: 8:08.   Not bad considering.

It was great to see so many familiar faces.  Thanks to all you awesome runners who chose to help out rather than run.  And thank you Lisa for promoting such a great event so soon after such a tragic loss- my heart is with you.

Had thoughts of getting up and running the JSD 5K but didn't get moving in time.  My 6 yr old daughter was really disappointed so we had our own race.  3 very slow but fun miles.  She is such a trooper- and stubborn.  She wasn't about to quit until the Garmin said 3 miles (I let her wear it since it was her run).

We then walked to dinner and back for another 3 miles (6 yo walked 2 of the 3 for a total of 5 for the day).

Had a fantastic 8 mile run.  I've decided to try and enjoy running and not worry about my pace, so even though I wore my watch I did not check it until I was done.

My AP ended up being: 8:47.  I started out slow and ran at a comfortable pace.  The only time my breathing was labored was up the hill at mile 3.  My splits were: 8:46, 8:50, 9:15 (through the mud and up a pretty good hill), 9:01(head wind begins), 8:53, 8:51, 8:26 (yeah no more headwind), 8:08.

I ended at the gym, and since my husband wasn't done with his workout I rode the bike.  8 miles in just under 30 minutes.

 R. Knee feels good when I run but wants to give way and hurt for several days after I run.  Swelling is minimal if any- pain is in the lateral joint line.  Tonight it is doing a little better than after my last 6 miler- so maybe its on the mend.

Had hoped to get out and run this morning but the kids decided to get up early so I ended up taking them to the gym and running on the treadmill.  I started out really slow (6.0) and slowly increased the speed until I was running at a 6:37 pace (9.0).  I then slowly eased back to a 7:30 pace and ran two miles at this speed, then I slowed down to an 8:00 pace and ran 2 miles.  When all was said and done my AP for 8 miles was a 7:50.  I finished by walking a mile to cool down.

It's amazing what a difference a day makes.  Yesterdays run was bordering on torture.  I only enjoyed it because I was with my husband.  Today's run on the other hand was easy.  Even the fast paces weren't a problem.  I debated running further because I was feeling good but decided to play it safe and not over do.  My right knee seems to be doing better.  The faster paces are less painful and the swelling seems to be slowly going away.

Ran without a watch so I had no idea of pace during the race. From the start I counted 5 women ahead of me, I was able to pass one on a big hill but then I was passed by one. I didn't push too hard because I didn't want to aggravate the knee. On one hand I'm proud of myself for not pushing too hard therefore allowing me to continue training without injury, on the other hand I'm disappointed that I didn't finish with a better time and at least win my age division (the women who passed me was in my age group and only beat me by about 10 seconds- I could have easily caught her).

After I finished I jogged back and finished with my daughter. She did great.

When we got back to the cabin I took the kids for a walk down to the river (1 mile). I ended up carrying my two year old. At the river my two year old caught 3 fish and my daughter played in the river- floating down in her life jacket. It was a riot watching the kids experience new things.

Met with the Dr. Skedros today concerning my knee.  He feels that the ACL repair I had done 20 years ago has started to fail.  He thinks I need to have it redone, unfortunately I have two screws in it, so he said I will first have to have the screws removed and bone grafts put in.  I will then need to wait approximately six month for the grafts to take and then I can have the ACL repair done.  He ordered an MRI to be done to confirm his suspicions.  He also told me he would not do the surgery so I am still looking for an orthopedic surgeon.

I'm not sure what I think about Skedros' prognosis.  My knee has been swollen now for over a year- I would love to have it feel right again but I also know how torturous ACL surgery/recovery can be.  It will be interesting to see if the MRI confirms his suspicions.    On the bright side, I was pleased to hear he saw very little arthritis on the x-ray.

Had a soccer game.  I don't know what is going on but my team is not playing well.  It is really frustrating, although I am not contributing much.  My knee is not right-  it does not feel stable.  I think I am actually a hinderence to my team.

MRI tomorrow.

I got my MRI results back on Thursday and have been depressed ever since.  I now know why I have been struggling for the past year.  My right knee has a total ACL rupture and a meniscus tear.  My left knee also has a meniscus tear.

I am not afraid of the ACL surgery, I have had two of them already but this time there are other issues that have to be considered and the uncertainty of how and when has me rather anxious.  Since I have already had an ACL repair done on this knee (20 years ago) they will have to remove the screws from that surgery and do bone grafts.  Recovery on this stage is about 6 months.  Then I will be ready to have the ACL reconstruction, which requires 6 months to a year for total recovery.  Since I just started a new job I do not want to miss any work, therefore, I don't know when to schedule the surgery.  When I had my left knee done 10 years ago I was able to do it the first day of the UEA break and I was back to work on Monday- no missed work.  I was on crutches for a while and had to rely on my students a bit to help me but things worked out.  Now that I'm 10 years older I'm not sure I'll be able to get back on my feet so fast.  I really don't won't to miss work.

Today I decided to try and run since I've been running on it (sortof) for a year now.  I ran from my house down 114th south to the district and back.  I ran 3 miles (9:21, 9:22, 9:26) then I walked a mile (stopping in at Harmon's to get a bottle of water), then I ran 2 miles (9:21, 8:17) then I walked 1.5 miles.  I feel like the tin man running.  My knee is really stiff and likes to send shooting pains and give out every now and then.

I am rather discouraged.  I was hoping to BQ again this year but it looks like running might  be on hold for a while.  I wish I knew...

Maybe biking isn't out of the question and you can keep fitness up with that until you're able to get back to pounding pavement? What a horrible decision to have to make, do you have any updates about it yet?

Sorry to hear about this. Good luck with everything.

Race: Hobble Creek Half (13.1 Miles) 01:43:33, Place in age division: 12

I went into this race just wanting to finish and have a good run, since I likely won't be racing/running for a while.  I started out at a nice easy pace, running the first 2.5 miles with my husband.  I was feeling good and he could tell he was holding me back so we departed company.  Miles 3-9 I ran in the 7:40's.  Miles10-12 my pace slowed to the low 8's.  I found these miles a bit challenging.  My legs (& knee) felt good but the heat was torture and I wasn't expecting the rolling hills- if you can call them that.  I finished my last mile in 7:30.

I was very pleased with my performance in this race.  I probably could have pushed harder but I wanted to enjoy the journey.  I think this is one of the only races I have run where my quads are not sore.  If it wasn't for my knee, which is huge and very sore, I would feel great.  I look forward to attempting this race again once I get my knee fixed (hopefully by then they will get the buses and start times figured out).

FYI- My husband and I got each others timing chips.  I'm pretty sure they messed it up with our packets because I know I put on the chip labeled 800 and his was 801.  I asked them at the race to fix our times but they did not.  So it shows me finishing at 1:55 and Jeff finishing at 1:43 (he wishes).  A little annoying but oh well, I know better.

Amazing run- It gives me the motivation to push through surgery/rehab. and hopefully come back stronger than ever.  If I can run 13.1 in 1:43 with very little training and a bad knee what will I be able to do when I am strong again?  I can't wait to find out.

Wednesday I meet with the doc to discuss my options.

I can only imagine how fast you could have run with a good knee and all the training you would like to do. I enjoyed the race all but the heat. I really have a hard time running in heat. Great job. It was good seeing you and your husband.

It was great to see you for a few minutes at the game!!! Good luck with the doctor and heal up fast! You have to get back to racing me, that was seriously the most fun race I have had.

You are looking great, BTW.

Saw the doc the wed after hobblecreek and he highly recommended I give up running and soccer until I have surgery. He wasn't all that concerned about doing the ACL reconstructin even though it is complicated by a previous ACL repair with metal hardware nor was he concerned with my ability to recover, he was however concerned with the fact that I have bone contusions on both my femur and my tibia and I have fairly extensive chondromalacia. Listening to him explain I know I need to give it up for now but its killing me. I can't schedule surgery because I want to get a better grasp on my new job before I'm out. My hubby wants me to wait until next summer. Uggh. Will I ever learn to love the bike? I doubt it.

30 min bike and 30 min elliptical. Gerbalizing- now I understand that term.

I'm sorry about the knee. It is hard to switch to the elliptical and bike when injured, I know I've done it plenty but at least you get exercise.

Gerbalizing - I LOVE it!

I hope things are going well for you and you're starting to enjoy the bike a bit more :) Spin classes help with the monotony of the bike, while keeping Cardio high.

Surgery...ugghhh. Let us know when it's scheduled. Here is to a quick recovery and getting back on the road.

Hey, Im sorry about that. I would give your body some rest and try to heal naturally. It is a hard decision I had to go through but you will benefit from it. I have, even though it took 10 years. It wont for you though. im a wuss. haha.

Any new news on the surgery front?

2 mile run, 2 mile walk with my husband.  It felt awesome to get out and actually sweat a little.

It has been over a month since I ran on a regular basis and I can't stand it any longer.  The doc said no running and no soccer until I have surgery and I have complied (until yesterday).  The swelling in my knee has been fairly non-existent since, but so has any form of exercise.  Due to my new job and my husbands wishes I am going to try and hold off on having ACL revision surgery until next summer (ughh).  So, I have decided I am going to try and start a very conservative running regime.  I figure if I keep my mileage low, stay off the hills, run flat paved runs (or on the treadmill) I can continue to run without aggravating my knee.  Hopefully, this will work. Otherwise I think I will go crazy.  I am addicted to running.

3.1 miles- AP 8:42.

I hate to hear about battles with the injury bug, especially an addict. Good luck with your limited, conservative running regime. Also, I have a weak spot for anybody who ignores their doctor, so props for that.

Nice to see you back and with a good plan. I think it sounds pretty smart! I hope it works well for you, and with the new access to JRP it should go quite well!

AP- 9:31. Total run time 33:24. Felt good. My legs are a little tired from inactivity but no knee pain/swelling. Yeah!

5 mile hike in PC.  The terrain was pretty uneven but my knee seemed to fair fairly well.  We avoided steep inclines/declines.

Headed out on our mountain bikes only to find mine was in serious disrepair.  I guess that was to be expected since I haven't pulled it out of the garage in probably 5 years.  The gears were totally gummed up.  Oh well.  We went for a walk/run instead.  We walked the PC rail trail for about 3+ miles and then ran back.  Overall a good workout.  They had a good portion of the trail ripped up so I spent a good portion of the run watching my footing.

Knee pain/swelling still minimal.

Ran the JRP with husband and my daughter (on her bike).  Slow and easy.  I don't think our pace ever got under 9:30.

Knee swelling- minimal

Knee pain- occasional sharp pain when I stomp (land hard) or pivot

Slow run on the JRP with the family.  Minimal knee discomfort.

I absolutely love running in the weather.  I took off and ran 2 miles heading south with the wind and rain pelting me in the face.  I then headed west for a half a mile of uphill then  2 miles with the rain at my back and half a mile downhill.   I have no idea my exact distance or pace since my garmin died at .8 miles.  Great run.  It absolutely amazes me how natural running feels some days.  I felt like I could run forever.

Minimal knee pain and swelling.  Only minimal pain during the downhill part of the run.
